The Centre for Psycho-Oncology is a research unit specialized in studying the psychosocial aspects of pediatric cancer. Located at CHU Sainte-Justine and affiliated with the Université de Montréal (Québec, Canada), the CPO brings together researchers, clinicians, and students from a variety of disciplines.
Vision
• Support all individuals facing the challenges of illness and treatment to promote long-term recovery.
• Understand the caregiver-patient relationship and the personal experience of healthcare professionals in order to build a strong, collaborative environment that better meets the needs of the sick child.
• Contribute to children’s development and the well-being of their families.
Mission
• Better understand the factors that contribute to vulnerability and resilience in young people and families facing chronic pediatric cancer.
• Develop interventions to improve the quality of life for everyone affected by the illness: children, families, and healthcare professionals.
